DYING AT THE MOUNTAIN TOP

Deuteronomy 32:48-50 (48) And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying, (49) Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession: (50)And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
To my fellow readers, I want to encourage you in this short word, when you believe God in the vision He gave you.
As most of all know about the death of Moses, how God forbade him to enter into the promise land along with the next generation of Israel, to inherit the promise of the Lord. However, as the Holy Spirit brought more to light about the times Moses spent on the mountain top, he also died on the mountain top. He didn’t die the usual death of old age, but rather went into the sleep of death with still fine eye sight and hearing. Now a days it’s rarely heard of, especially of a person living to 120 years old like Moses.
When Moses approached, at the command of God, up the mountain to his death, the Lord allowed him to see the promise manifested. He saw the land that the Lord promised.
I believe it wasn’t tough for Moses to go up the mountain, spiritually speaking. Because all the time you see through out the word of God, as Moses bore record of constantly going up and down the mountain to fellowship and receive command, he was learning to die to himself in the process.
Paul brings this out clearly in the epistle He wrote to the Philippian church, by saying “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
Moses was so in love with God’s people that he wanted to see even the first generation of Israel be brought into the promise land. As God would give and take away, that was something Moses had to submit to.
Job 1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
Beloved, something happens when we can go to the mountain top of fellowship with God and be willing to die to ourselves and into the command and purpose of the Lord. When we learn to fully loose ourselves to the will of God, and die to our flesh and even our own opinion of what we think God should do, something tremendous takes place. As we die into the trust worthiness of God’s word, we began to realize we are dying with sharp vision and hearing intact. With that He will show us the promise that He spoken to us!
I encourage you my fellow reader, God may have spoken to you in a dream or vision, and there are times even in prayer God will tell you to die to your self and allow Him to show you the promise that lies before you! As I once heard before, I encourage you with this, “The vision must never die in the visionary, but the visionary MUST be willing to die for the vision!”
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
God Bless
