DEATH IN THE POT

John 14:16 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

To my fellow reader and believer in Christ, we live in a day that many, even believers lack in the discernment spirits. This word is not to condemn anyone, but to encourage all to follow after Christ and received His Holy Spirit. However in this generation and generations of old, when many were introduced to the truth of the Holy Spirit, some got fanatical, taking on other spirits and not knowing it. This is because they have either neglected the Word of God and don’t read or study it to show themselves approved (II Timothy 2:15) or a specific church is out of order and lack in doctrine. In which by the world’s view perhaps puts the church in question as a whole and rightfully so. However we must not quench the inner most work of the Holy Spirit, for that is what conforms, shapes, and molds us to be like Christ and continue in correct fellowship with the God according to His plans and purposes (Romans 8:28) and we must not neglect the unchangeable word of God (IITimothy 3:15-17).

I Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

As I read in II Kings 4, there is a specific account given in versus 38-41 when Elisha’s servant made the great pot of pottage for the sons of the prophets, the Holy Spirit began to confirm by giving revealing to me some insight about today’s generation, especially the majority of the young people and what to look out for, so that we may continue in the right spirit of this upcoming revival and Holy Spirit outpouring upon this land!

II Kings 4:38-40(38) And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for thesons of the prophets. (39) And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. (40) So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

In the introduction of this account given, we are told that there was a DEARTH in the land! Dearth means there was a famine or LACK OF FOOD! In other words, that portion of the land in Gilgal was “Dead Earth”.

There are some parts in the land that have dry churches, not in the sense that they don’t respond or acknowledge the Holy Spirit, but there is a LACK OF FOOD, both to eat and drink! A Lack of studying and abiding by the Word of God! Some taking leaps of “faith” yet the Lord never bid them by His word to do it or to move forward in certain areas.

I personally have come across many of my own generation, who has many piercings, tattoos, yet do indeed love God. Some don't even hold a spirit of rebellion, especailly after receiving Christ into their life, however I am talking of those who been in the church for awhile and are so “spiritual” that they are so much more Satan conscious than Jesus conscious! Those who talk and experience such spiritual afflictions within their body and or demonic attacks and boasting of the matter but not overcoming it! When hearing of such stories and testimonies, I do believe they are experiencing personal attacks, for example I have heard of those who experienced some pain in their backs, a twisting of their insides, all because they went to a place that looked frightening and they sensed some demonic spirits. I believe one can experience that, but for a child of God who is covered by the blood of Jesus, I believe the enemy can’t touch us, unless we or God permits (Job 1:7-12) and that we are to overcome and fight off the enemy in Christ Jesus!

Isaiah 59:19 …When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

In the original Greek translation Isaiah 59:19 reads… When the enemy shall come in, LIKE a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

The enemy has no power like a flood; he wasn’t even the one who initiated the flood upon the earth in Noah’s day to destroy it! It was the Lord! However, the bible says that when the enemy comes in that LIKE a flood the Spirit of the Lord SHALL lift up a STANDARD against him!

To many people in this generation carry their version bibles that are thought by thought and not word for word, and so Satan conscious and gives the devil more credit then ever and do not know that the Lord will lift up a standard against the devil. They live in fear yet talk about their experience as if it was some movie!

II Kings 4:39-40 (39) And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not. (40) So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

Many, even the sons of prophets, pastors, etc who have not had their own personal encounter with the Lord nor committed to a personal relationship with Jesus, accountable before God, have gone to “wild gourds” and trying to mix in the pot some new wild vine that they know not of! Trying to find some new thing, some enhancement to the Word without the PROPER inner most working of the Holy Spirit!Trying to live life spiritually but neglecting the Word of God! It is so obvious among today’s generation! The hearts are perhaps right before the Lord, theysay they love Jesus and believe in Him yet are plucking from the wrong vine! Plucking from the WILD VINE and as a result taking steps, wildly and foolishly in the name of faith and not by the name or word in Jesus! Death is in the Pot beloved!

We ought to be wildly zealous for Christ I do believe,preaching and declaring His goodness bodly, yet being humble in the Spirit's inner most working but not in the sense that causes one to live and allow some other spirit to afflict them and mis-shapen their mind, living a life partial deception, not experiencing the overcoming liberty in Christ and fellowship with the Lord, and hearing His voice!

Satan doesn’t mind people being in church, he just doesn’t want the Holy Spirit to be activated in a believer’s life DAILY! He doesn’t mind some “religious” person to read the Word of God, but once the Holy Spirit is activated in the life of a believer, the Word of God will start speaking to them and fueling one’s heart to submit Christ’s authority, being saved and baptized, and overcoming flesh (sin) by taking on the things concerning the spirit (Colossians 3:1-16 & Galatians 5:13-23) and functinong in a power divine (Matthew 28:18-20)!

Jesus said in John 15:1-5 (1) I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. (2) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (3) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

It makes much more sense that those who love Christ but are not discerning of spirits to go wild beyond and away from what the word of God emphasizes on how to live a renewed and transformed life in Christ, because we are not plugged into Jesus through his word and fellowship with Him. Neglecting to be breaking the bread daily in communion with the Lord! We can not overcome anything without Jesus being our resource in which we are to draw from and conquer in!

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

I encourage you my fellow reader and us all to continue steadfastly in the word of God! To be plugged into Jesus! Daily allow the Holy Spirit to be activated within you and continually come upon you! We have seen in the recent past, of God doing some legitimate miracles and such, even of divine workings that are not mentioned or recorded in the word of God like severed legs growing back, missing teeth all of a sudden appearing, and so on all being done in the name of Jesus Christ through the laying on of hands and prayers of believers motivated by true faith! However man and even this generation have tried to build a doctrine around their own experience. Like we see with Peter in Matthew 17:1-9, how he tried to institutionalize his own experience by building a tabernacle for Moses, Elijah, and Jesus! Yet in verse 5 God spoke to the disciples by a bright overshadowing cloud saying to hear only Jesus!

You see beloved, so many want to institutionalize their own personal experience and yet forget to ONLY listen to Jesus, and begin misunderstand the nature of Christ by neglecting what the bible says in a true indepth study, or by not allowing the written word of God consume our mind and heart!

II Kings 4:41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

We need the correct meal for the church to function by both word and power which is to function by the authority of the King of Heaven! (I Corinthians 4:20). We need to rebuild the alter, as Elijah and many of us should say to see the power of God down before a people to turn hearts unto Him! (I Kings 18:30-39). To repair the alter is to preach the preserved, written and unchangalbe word of God, allowing that to be our foundation and doctrine, so that we can truly understand the correct nature of the Holy Ghost's inner working in and through our lives within the earth!

When we continue to proceed from the written word of God, in all of its power, truth, and validity, we will be discerning to not eat from nor cook up a pot of death, but rather drink from and pur out the well spring of life (John 4:1-42) and witnessing divine life made manifested in the hearts of others. To see the life of Christ made manifested in the households, government, and churches all around! We are called to take on the commission that Christ set for us and continue preaching His Gospel, along with signs and wonders to bring hearts back to the Father through Christ Jesus, for the advancement of His Kingdom in the earth! Jesus asscended from the earth until He comes back again, but His ministry and commission never left the earth! (Matthew 28:16-20). God wants us to cultivate the earth with His word and act accordingly, so that there is no lack of spiritual food that all can come to the river and drink thereof for no harm is in it! No death is to be in the pot!

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
