DISOBEDIENCE AS WITCHCRAFT

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. (11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. (12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

To my fellow reader, this word is not to frighten you, but rather encourage you in the way of The Lord and to hearken diligently to His voice, to observe to do that which He has spoken.

We all know, as Disciples of Christ, that disobedience is not good or acceptable to God. However, I don’t think we ever compared the intense unacceptability of disobedience to witchcraft.

Witchcraft is the art or practices of a witch; sorcery; magic or magical influence; witchery. In other words it’s anything that tries to mimic God in own self empowerment, influencing and or justifying self governing for one’s own gain. Witchcraft results in the exact motivation and intension of the heart and practice like Satan has, which is to deceive and rebel. (See previous blog, Satan). Witchcraft enchants the false possibility of being just as equal in power as God.

As a once recipient of living a lifestyle in disobedience before being born again into a covenant walk with Christ, I was able to relate to part the influence of witchcraft as I lived in disobedience. I once lived the life of deceit and rebellion. (See beginning blog, My Testimony). But thank God for His Salvation through Christ Jesus, the free gift of repentance, and mercies that are new every morning just waiting to infiltrate our life daily!

Lamentations 3:22-26 (22) It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. (25) The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. (26)It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

In Deuteronomy 18:12, witchcraft is noted as an abomination to God. So, is not disobedience an abomination to God as well?

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Consider Adam and Eve, when they were drawn out of the Garden of Eden, the place God choose to place them in. The reason why God drew them out of the garden was do to their disobedience, the first abomination noted in the beginning of time. Through the witchery and deceit of the serpent, Eve acted in disobedience to God and Adam as well. The very act in eating of the fruit which God forbade them not to, was witchcraft made manifest! It was the taking of the very act of trying to defy God! Remember beloved, if Satan can influence you to question God’s word, it will result in you questioning the very nature and ability of God, imparting in you a false belief of self governing and empowerment.

I Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, … Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee…

Brother, Sister, Church, God wants to bring us into the place where He chose His name to dwell! He wants to bring us into places that will take us to more intimate levels in Him! A place of Glory, of Power, of Covenant, of Relationship, it’s the place where God’s presence dwells! He wants us and enable’s us, only through Christ in us, to dwell in the place of His presence! The word is, don’t bring your witchcraft into His presence, don’t bring your disobedience with you, thinking you can just enter in and out of His presence, in and out of the covenant. Disobedience doesn’t mix with obedience, and in order to enter in to the presence of God and over come the wicked one daily, is to surrender your heart to obedience to God’s will, God’s way.

II Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

II Timothy 3:15-17 (15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

I encourage us all, don’t do witchcraft, don’t be disobedient to God, or as it shows in I Peter 3:12, “don’t do evil”. Rather quickly put on that helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6), protect your mind daily with salvation that only comes from the Lord. Do away with the lie of self motivation, governing, or empowerment with out Christ in your life. Don’t surrender to acts of disobedience and witchcraft, especially when the Holy Spirit is quenched.

Also, Parents as God commands in Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Remember, you’re not only responsible for your own actions, but also for how you live before the eyes of your children. Don’t act upon disobedience, which also results your children to pass through the fire of your consequences. You’re disobedience has an affect on not just yourself, but all those around you. Sin, is never a private issue. The same applies to children as well.

Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Ephesians 6:1-4 (1)Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (2) Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; (3) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. (4) And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Live life in liberation, daily live within the presence of God, communing with His Spirit. II Corinthinas 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. That is the access fee to the presence of God, which is a surrendered heart that worships him in spirit and in truth! Our obedience is worship unto God!

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Deuteronomy 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

God Bless
