II Chronicles 23:18 Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.
To my fellow reader and disciple of Christ, this message, this truth is the most updated truth since the beginning of time when God announced and intently planned for a King to rule all Kings and bring Salvation unto man in the sake of not only redemption but originally for God’s Glory and in His alone.
Ezekiel 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
I find it so captivating beyond words, that through the entire planning and prophetic fulfillment that has taken place since the beginning of time from the first mention in Genesis 1:3… “And God said” all the way to the last “Amen” used to conclude the greatest prophecy spoken through man in the book of Revelation concerning the second coming of Christ and the full establishment of His Kingdom on the new earth that is holy and with out sin, that all of this will be done just to show forth the Greatness of God’s Glory and Power! When you think about it that is what this whole “thing” is all about. That when Christ the King is exalted, we who are dead in Christ are exalted as well to Glorify and bear witness of His ultimate Lordship over all the heavens and the earth. We rejoice over this because by the transforming work of the Holy Spirit we are one in Christ, joined by the blood of royalty that was shed so graciously and being made available for us who were once bound and ruled by death himself. It’s about life that has been granted to us to enjoy the fruitfulness of God’s creation and splendor.
In II Chronicles 23 there is given record of the doings and ordinations done by the priest Jehoiada. In the beginning of the Chapter in the first verse we that the priest strengthens himself in the seventh year, the year after Joash has been hidden in the House of God for six years from a crazed, evil spirited, and possessed woman named Athaliah.
II Chronicles 22:10, 12 (10) But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.(12) ...and Athaliah reigned over the land.
But when the seventh year came, the priest Jehoiada strengthened himself and went to work to place the proper king on the throne. The Bible says in II Chronicles 23 that the priest then took captains of the hundreds, made covenant with them and they went about Judah, and the priest set the other priests in their place that they were appointed around the temple, the alter, and the new king and he delivered weaponry into their hands! The priest set them in place! Because a great event was about to take place! The citizens of Judah was about to be saved out of the selfish hands of Athaliah! The son of a King who was hid in the house of God was about to be crowned and appointed ruler in the seventh year! A new day would dawn and all this planning has been carried out through a priest who strengthened himself, made covenant, and pursued for the Kingdom to be established by the promise God had with David concerning Judah specifically. This priest even gave the captains the weapons that King David had in the House of God! Preparation has been made!
As we read this…we see through this portrait of an event given by God and recorded in His word, in His documents concerning fulfillment and history that this story was to show us by shadow and type of the plan God has for His Kingdom! I believe in the seventh day that God rested, He was strengthening Himself. When you rest, your are strengthened! But again we see the priest Jehoiada being first strengthened in the seventh year! A strengthening was taking place because a plan was about to be carried out!
And throughout the Old Testament we see and hear of people God has used and elected to prophecy, rule, and give record of God’s forever moving hand throughout the earth, either upon or through one’s life! Of how God brings those who He uses into first covenant with Him and then reveals His plans as they obey His command, and then much prophecy was fulfilled at the coming of Jesus at His first appearance into the world. But we all know the story never stops there, that was just a glimpse of our King who would return in all splendor and glory, to take claim to His royal subjects and citizens for His Kingship and defeat death once and for all!
II Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
It doesn’t stop at Christ’s first coming! The story continues and begins a part two in the recorded history of God’s covenant shared with all mankind! I believe in II Chronicles 23, as in other books and chapters in the Bible, there are prophecies within prophecies. The life portrayed through the Priest and the series of events that follows exemplifies God’s preparation, Christ’s Kingship, and Satan’s defeat!
II Chronicles 23:9 Moreover Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in the house of God. The Bible says the Priest delivered! I want to let you know today, that God being the High Priest, He delivers! Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
We may be experiencing defeat in our lives, allowing the enemy to influence our minds to think we are absolutely nothing! Allowing Satan to kill the spirit or knowledge of truth that by the blood of Jesus we are not of royal blood! I am telling you dear saints; too many times we allow the spirit of Athaliah to kill of royal seed! To many times we allow those who are saved to backslide and yet justify it saying…”well they know better”, instead of getting into the position of receiving the armor of what the High Priest has delivered to us BY HIS SPIRIT and getting the word in our mouth, praying and fighting the principalities and powers of darkness! As Joash stayed hidden in the House of God, Jesus was hidden to the sight of mankind throughout the Old Testament until God’s appointed time over 2000 years ago. Yet there was talk about this coming Messiah through His prophets, but until that time, God in all His strength began plotting and planning series of events to show forth Christ’s glorious appearing and bring The divine light and only Hope into the World!
Saints God is calling us to be hidden in His house! Many in my own young generation don’t know what it IS to be hidden in the House of God! Samuel can relate! He grew up; he was hidden in the House! Though He prophesied the word of the Lord to Eli and brought even a national prophecy forth from the throne room of heaven, he remained hidden in the house of God! Not hidden in fear, but hidden in preservation! Until finally the day would come, when Samuel would be exalted in the name of the Lord as the ambassador of heaven! But he was hidden! He was submissive to authority! Are we? Jesus was hidden until FINALLY he was born into this world and exalted as the first fruits of Glory by obeying God even unto death on that cross! But it doesn’t stop there! He was glorified being the first fruits again showing us prophetically that we as found children of God will one day be glorified in our resurrection together at His second coming!
II Chronicles 23:10-11 (10) And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about. (11) Then they brought out the king's son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.
Picture the day when we will see the heavenly host girded with armor at every side of God’s throne, every place, surrounding the King! Seeing our Lord Jesus Christ sit on the throne, with His anointing just piercing through the darkened sky forever making it light, in all His glory and authority as the true and only King of all kings and Lord of all lords! What a day that will be!
The rest of the Bible continues on to say that the trumpets sounded and praise was given to this new King Joash, as all were celebrating His kingship in the house of God! And as the loud noises of rejoicing were being projected in all the land of Judah from the temple, Athaliah heard it and saw what was going on!
Verses 12-13 (13) when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD: (13) And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of music, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason
When you’re hidden in the house of God, the place of preservation which is a place in prayer and sweet communion with the Lord, you learn to keep that which was intimate…intimate.
Matthew 6:5-6 (5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (6) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
When exalt and begin to praise the Lord while hidden in our “prayer closet” the devil begins to cry out and brake apart shouting Treason! He thinks he has a hold on you or your family, but when you begin to stir up the Holy Ghost within and bring into light, that which was hidden within your heart, and begin to speak in tongues and worship the King bow at His throne! Satan will see The True King standing at the pillar of your heart waiting to put the enemy asunder from your life so that Christ’s Lordship will have full dominance over you and your relations! Why? It’s so that God’s word fill be fulfilled and the promises He promised you can be given and fulfilled!
Verse 14-15 (14) Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the LORD. (15) So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king's house, they slew her there.
I encourage you my fellow reader to begin to cry out to God! There is so much prophetic insight revealed within this chapter but I believe one of the many true messages the Holy Spirit is conveying to us is the reassurance that God has it all under control. The enemy truly has been defeated. Receive and use that which the High Priest has delivered to you in order to proclaim the victory in Christ within your life and life of others! We can’t just sit around saying God is looking and some day will have a perfect church. We were made spotless out of the waters of Baptism. It’s our duty to cultivate God’s temple through prayer and His word to remain spotless. Allowing the Holy Spirit to purge us and burn up any wicked thing within. But God was the first who strengthened Himself that we may come to Him for it in order to make it another day foward and in His promises. It’s all about His glory! And when we remain hidden in the House of God, hidden in prayer, God will most defiantly exalt the Christ within! Think of David, when he was hidden in the cave of Adullam and some of the greatest victories David had when being preserved and prepared for God’s will upon His life to rule over Judah as King! The amazing fact is that the cave in which David hid in wasn't to far from where he slew Goliath, the testimony that changed the face of Israel and turned the course of David's life! David was hidden in the place of his testimony! He had to be constanly reminded of God's full control and victory upon all his affairs and endevours, as he was still able to view the place where God brought a great victory to the nation! We read about it in his Psalms that are recorded.
It’s by daily prayer and communion with the Lord you begin to act and speak like a ruler under God’s authority! You begin to speak like on who is a citizen of a divine Kingdom! Don’t let the enemy kill your royalty by speaking foolishly and not in accordance to the Word and Will of God. Stand and hide within the testimony of God's goodness, never loose sight of it! Use your past testimony in order to get into your future in Christ! Let The King be crowned within your heart and function through your life! Be hidden in Him and walk out as a living testimony bearing witness of Jesus' Kingdom and power! (Matthew 6:7-8)
II Chronicles 23:16 And Jehoiada made a covenant between him, and between all the people, and between the king, that they should be the LORD's people.
God Bless
