JUST A KING'S KISS

I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

To my fellow reader and believer in the faith, this word is to encourage us to not carry the same spirit as King David’s son, Absalom, carried. To simply learn and remind us all of what it means to be among the King’s elect. I feel so compelled in my heart to write this, especially for the young upcoming generation that I myself am apart of, to bring forth truth and encouragement through the writing of a appointed son and young disciple in the faith, living a lifestyle daily, by the grace of our Lord Jesus, fully yielded to the authority of the Kingdom of God. To prove what is good, perfect, and acceptable will of our Lord.

In II Samuel 13-14 we read of first the sin of one of King David’s sons named Amnon and how that provokes the heart of another son named Absalom. Though Amnon sinned by raping one of his sister Tamar, it caused Absalom to have bitter unforgiving hatred toward his brother, so after killing Amnon, Absalom flees for his life. Later on in chapter fourteen David finally seeks out after Absalom his son to bring him back into his place in Jerusalem, yet deliberately not showing his face to his son. This punishment of not seeing his father’s face, Absalom can not bear. By any means Absalom gets his way to see the king’s face…II Samuel 14:32-33 (32) And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me. (33) So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.

Finally, what Absalom has been waiting for! A kiss from the king was something that triggered a thought in Absalom that everything is fine and back to normal, he can function as royalty again in his own house. Just a simple bow to the ground before the king and a kiss received, now the sin of Absalom seemed to be blotted out! Oh but how selfishly wrong he was. Yes his sin may have been forgive, but he was still at uneven grounds with his David as his father.

II Samuel 15: 1-6 (1) And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. (2) And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. (3) And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee. (4) Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! (5) And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. (6) And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

Notice how in a portion of the above scripture, in verse one says "that it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him"! In verse two, that Absalom rose up early and stood beside the way of the gate! You see beloved, immediately after the kiss from the king he had a selfish motive. As we read, his motive really was to be at equal authority of the king and then conquer the throne, by starting out as being a judge. Since King David didn’t punish his son Amnon for his sin, Absalom though he himself would be a better judge since the King didn’t execute in judgment the way Absalom though he should have. (II Samuel 13:21-31)

In that state of mind and the motivation of a bitter heart, Absalom sought to open his own door, without the authority or approval of the king. Absalom took it upon himself to act in an office that was never, ever, ever given unto him! No King or even elder ever ordained Absalom to be a judge, he just took it upon himself, thinking he had every right just because he got a kiss from the king!

God is surely raising up a generation, especially the young within this generation, as partakers of a mighty move of His Kingdom that shall apprehend the hearts of His people by both power and scripture! However, God’s mighty outpouring will come in His timing as we continually pray and prepare for it! In the mean time, let us all learn from the life of Absalom, as God wants to raise up a generation unto maturity in Christ!

We see in the word, that Absalom received the kiss from a king and not noted as it being from a father.

I believe that IF it was a kiss from David to Absalom as a father to a son, it would mean total restoration and consideration for a place of greater authroity. But since it was a kiss from a king it was only meant that Absalom would live free and forgiven within the confines of the king’s house. It was by no means a given approval for Absalom to function in an authority as judger in the king’s place.

There are many within churches today that have been kissed by The King with a calling upon their lives, and yet use that “reason” to think they can function in a place that the King never called them to be in!

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Also many (who are only called) will try to take matters into their own hands because they may not have agreed with those who were placed in authority over them and others. These are people who seek to build their own church/kingdom and not Christ’s. Perhaps even by past bitterness toward another, can cause one to act against the very nature of Christ in forgiveness.

Whatever the case may be, if we ever allow selfishness and bitterness to creep up into our hearts, then we will find ourselves stealing people from the Kingdom rather than winning souls for the Kingdom!

I believe in this day and age, and especially for what God wants to do in the lives of His people, this is no time to raise up other’s immaturely! Because if that be the case, then those others will totally misunderstand the leading of the Holy Ghost and wind up stealing the hearts of the Lord rather than guiding them unto the Lord!

Ephesians 4:11-15 (11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: (13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

My motive is to encourage others, not put down, but I believe the price and process upon the lives of those who want to not just be called out but to be chosen of the Lord is going to demand a narrow and straight walk in the transforming work of the Holy Spirit unto the likeness of Christ Jesus continually! Just because once we’ve repented and received Jesus’ Lordship and salvation to our lives, becoming both kings and priests UNTO God, water baptized and able to speak in tongues for five hours straight does not mean we are all of a sudden a Pastor, Apostle, Prophet, etc. For example, the bible says in Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, … it doesn’t say that they all shall be prophets. Just because one has a prophetic unction to encourage and edify the church, doesn’t mean that one is automatically a Prophet that has the authority to bring correction and refocus to the church!

You see, Absalom made HIMSELF to be a judge in order to win hearts to elect him as a king, but still in all he made HIMSELF king through deceiving others and eventually himself!

I believe the heart of what makes one giftedly chosen of the Lord, by the laying on of hands, is a heart of one who daily denies himself, picking up his own cross, following Jesus and who lives a daily prayerful lifestyle, in communication with the Spirit of God! This comes in process of obtaining a lifestyle before God as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

I Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

But as we have all received the “kiss” from the king, we also received a relationship with The Father only through the blood of Christ Jesus! Rather to be in a rush to get into desired ministry or to hold on to heart motives/issues that aren’t even Christ-like and resulting in Satan’s influence for us to open our own door;, let’s just be content in the fellowship that’s been made available with The Father through Jesus! May we take one day at a time just following Jesus and not trying to plead for Jesus to follow us.

Philippians 4: 5-11 (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (7) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (9) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Lord wants exalt Christ in and through His body, the church! May we not seek to rob the Kingdom, but to bring increase, in order to glorify our Lord! Absalom robbed from his father’s kingdom and eventually grew to hate his father. Pride and envy will do that, but may we in whatever present place we are in, whether it’s just a young disciple and spiritual son (as myself) or a great Prophet and Pastor, we are called to glorify one God,daily submitting to be like Him!

The Lord wants to use you in a powerful way, to win a generation, so allow this mind to be in you as you journey in your walk with Christ, to be daily submissive to the Spirit’s inner most work and will of our one and only King, Jesus Christ!

Revelation 1:5-6 (5) And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (6) And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.Amen.

God Bless
