PERFECT PEACE

Our peace does not come from extreme indifference, nor is it from becoming so "spiritual" that you fail to notice a problem. It is being so confident in God’s love that you know, regardless of the battle and difficulties in your circumstances, that as I John 4:4 says, Greater is He who is in me, than He who is in the world. You are not self-assured, you are God Assured."- Quote from the book; The Three Battlegrounds.

To all my fellow readers, this blog is from a short message I preached during the summer of 07 at my now home church. I taught about overcoming obstacles and, or situations with the perfect peace of and from the Lord. This blog, as you read, will focus more on perfect peace in general, and the next blog I will be sure to mention more about overcoming many things that you may and will encounter "as a Christian" or what I prefer say, " as a Servant".

Now the Lord promises us in His word and says, (paraphrased) " I will keep him (man) in perfect peace, if your mind is stayed and riveted to God." Now it is important to first know and accept the fact that only in and through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we can gain peace in all things. We as a people can not gain peace on our own, especially when we have "Giants" (extreme situations) to face. Our focus must remain on the Lord, for His word over our lives is true and promising, and He will give you the perfect peace to venture through the "road blocks" in order to get to the destination God promised for you. The perfect peace does require much patience.

Like Peter, one out of the twelve disciples of Jesus, Peter saw Jesus walking on the water and Peter said to Jesus, (paraphrased) “Master, if that is you, bid me to come". Peter, in his comment to Jesus, was implying; Jesus if that is you, (because only through and by Jesus) Peter then says, then bid me to come ( Jesus I can do it to if you grant me the full faith and peace, to be able to set my own feet on this sea, and allowing me to defy all gravity against the laws of nature, to do the miraculous and walk on the water as well, to be with you, Jesus, because greater is He (Jesus) that’s in me, than he (any one else) that’s in the world.) I believe, as we all know of this story, that it was a major act of faith. However, as peter was walking toward Jesus, Peter saw the waves, implied to us, our own waves can be the major giants that the enemy puts before us, in hope for us as servants of the Lord, to loose focus. Peter needed the perfect peace (not just any peace), in order to see the giant waves roaring over him, and yet not going to let disbelief to build with in his mind and heart, and to just keep walking the straight and narrow path toward Jesus.

The dictionary meaning of peace is; freedom from; disturbance, agitation, temper of the mind, internal commotion, private quarrels, fear, terror, anxiety. God’s meaning of peace is similar, but more in depth. God’s peace that he offers, is a peace that passes ALL understanding (of the; carnal, sinful, humanly natural, mind) in order to overcome and to keep walking in the fulfillment of the word of the Lord, to prove what is good and acceptable to the perfect will of the Lord.(Romans 12:2)

I believe that with the perfect peace from the Lord; your carnal, naturalistic conscience will quiet down and ,as the Bible says and requires, to those who have and ear to hear, hear what the holy spirit is saying to you, so that you wont veer off from the will and guidance of God and into a trap of the enemy. The enemy will most likely test your patience and peace, causing us to question God’s promise to us, but the more we are walking in the perfect peace of God and stay consecrated unto the will of your Lord, the enemy has no choice, but to back down.

Paul said, “run with patience". What an oxymoron type of a phrase. What Paul is stating, is run...but don’t sweat. How is that possible? Well, he is saying, run after the will and calling of God, but don’t sweat, may the perfect peace of God be with you, in order to finish running the race that God called you to run.

So I encourage you, my fellow reader, to go after the perfect quality of peace that the Lord will give you daily, in order to still keep running in and toward the fulfillment of His established will for your life. Just think, circumstances will not speak louder than God, when you are walking in His will and reliant on the Lord in order to continue the walk and gaining the perfect peace of and given from the Lord. Philippians 4:7 says, And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Now, go walk in the peace of God!

John 16:33 (KJV) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

God Bless
