Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer (Satan), son of the morning! how art tho cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
To my fellow readers, I decided and felt in my heart to write this blog about the origin of Satan. I am presently in a class at my church called laying the foundations (First Principles course), I say that to say that most of what you read is from the topic that was taught in the class, about understanding Satan. I have my own thoughts and truths that will intertwine a little with what I share to you, from the class.
Now everyone one has their own thoughts of who Satan is to them, weather it is a red cartoon figure, that appears on your should and acts as apart of your "own" conscience or whatever. I will mention in this blog more of how he came to be.
Satan was a former angel in heaven named Lucifer which means "light bearer". He was called son of the morning in Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) due to his brightness, every precious stone was his covering as the colors of the rainbow, he reflected the light of God and was some how able to cover the full spectrum of light, as the light of God shined upon him. He was once full of wisdom and beauty, perfect in all his ways since he was created until he fell. He was the anointed cherub and Guardian of the throne of God. His ministry was in the area of music, which he was created (by God as all angels) with special abilities to create music. He was in the High mountain of God and given the high place among the created being (angels). He walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire (Fire of God's Holiness).
Now, Lucifer fell from heaven and onto this earth. He rebelled, because he was not satisfied of what he had, and he wanted something forbidden. In Isaiah 14:13-14 (KJV), there are the 5 " I wills" of Lucifer. These 5 " I wills" is what Lucifer said in his rebellion against the God.
1. I Will ascend into heaven. (self-ascension)
2. I Will exalt my throne above the stars (angels) of God. (self-exaltation)
3. I Will sit also upon the mount of the congregation in the sides of the north. (Self-appointed authority)
4. I Will ascend above the heights of the clouds. (Self-dependence)
5. I Will be like the most High (God). (Self-defecation).
Results of what happened to Lucifer, because of his sin are found in not only Isaiah 14:12, but also the books, Ezekiel 28:17 and Revelation 12:9 all KJV. I encourage you, my fellow reader, to look up those scriptures and see for yourself, the results for what the Lord says in His Word.
Due to Lucifer's rebellion, he was cast out of heaven and shot down to earth like a lightening bolt! You might wonder, well whatever happened to hell? Well, as my Pastor says and I agree, (because it is the Word of God) Satan is in a "holding prison". That's right, Satan is on earth! He is loose roaming around, trying to devour people, until his final judgment, along with his demons (fallen angels), and those who follow him. Job 1:7 (KJV), And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and walking up and down it. However, his final judgment will be permanent death along with those who follow him. Now in another blog I will get into what the Word of God says, concerning hell.
Now I must stress this out, that Satan is very much real. It's not a matter that is to be taken lightly or conformed to a humanistic reasoning or any comfort whatsoever. The world today has tried to make Satan not "as so bad". I mean lets get real, kids today and even in the past saw cartoons that portrayed Satan to be just a little red guy on some ones shoulder, or something to be dressed up as or portray for the holiday of Halloween (a holiday that practices trickery and demonic acts that has been more acceptable to children and adults, however they are blinded by the true root and spirit portrayed in the holiday), so I believe you get the picture. The world has kept Satan around, and most has shut God out! Think about it, alot of people would be more expectable to any other belief that has God not in it. Why? Well, I believe and know that it has to do with accountability. No man, of this world and flesh, wants to be accountable to a higher power. People of the world are so blind and don't even know it.
Satan's mandate is to; rob, kill, and destroy all that God has created. You, me, and everything with in the earth. In which he roams arounds this day. He wants all that God has created to surely die with him. He doesn't want God to receive any glory whatsoever. Not at all! Bitterness and deceit has so strongly grown into Satan, that it his only character. His character is anything and everything that goes completely against God's character and intent. Bottom line. You are either serving Satan or the Lord. Many have tried to make up gods, but that is just the work of Satan. Satan wants man to make up anything, to their own content of belief, because it is astray from the Truth, in which Satan could not obtain. There is much more about Satan's tactics, that I can mention, but I am sure you get the idea. He just doesn't want you to know the truth and will do anything to keep you from it.
But, reader I encourage you, the Lord is on the throne! He is far greater and overpowers Satan. So it's is your daily choice, of who you will server. The Lord or Satan? This doesn't just go for people who aren't saved yet, but also for those who abide in the steps of the Lord. There is still flesh with in us, but we are to allow the Lord to cultivate the Spirit of God with in us, that we may be (as one of my personal favorite scripture and many other scriptures) Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world( the world in which Satan reigns in): but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and prefect, will of God.
I encourage you, if you haven't yet, to also look at one of my most previous blogs, Denying Flesh. Perhaps that will help in further understanding of the tactics of Satan and what must you do to avoid giving into the Devil.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and follow him. The bible says in James 4:7-10 (KJV) (7)Submit yourselves therforeto God. Resist the devil, and he (the devil) will flee from you. (8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded. (9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. (10) Humble yourselves in the sight of The Lord, and He (The Lord) shall lift you up.
God Bless
