TAKE AUTHORITY

Inspired from a sermon by hearing Rev. Tony Evans.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. -Luke 10:10

Well many are gearing up for some more Football action this weekend.

It is amazing when you consider all that is involved. I was on the football team in high school, though being more of a swimmer than a foot ball player, I saw my fair share of practices and games.

However, when comparing NFL football players to high school football players, they are huge! Now a days, they are younger, stronger, and more powerful!

As most of the attention is on the players during the game, some of the attention is also on the officials, the Referees. You know the Refs, the guys who look like zebras or the employees at your local Foot Locker. haha

The Referees keep a close eye on what the players are doing during the game. Any misbehavior on the field the Refs will make the call. Any specific and successful plays, again the Refs have the final say in order to consolidate such efforts that was exerted all for the purpose of having the winning advantage against the opposing team.

But have you ever wondered why the Refs, whether it being good or bad, are not afraid to make the calls? I mean, C'mon, if they make a call against a team, those Refs could be beaten up and pounded into the dirt by one of those 350+ pound linemen!

Why doesn't that happen? Because the players are not allow to touch the Refs!

Why is that? Those Refs are just a few old skinny guys who don't stand a chance against those young, all powerful football team players!

The reason why a player can't touch the Ref is because the Ref has something that not any football player has and that is... Authority.

The Ref makes the calls depending on what is written in their official NFL rule book and if a player even so touches the Ref in retaliation of a call that that Ref makes, then that player will be taken off the field, by pass his coach and has to deal with the head NFL Commissioner (his boss' Boss) and deal with the consequences of defying the rules that are written in THE RULE BOOK!

Now! Satan is very powerful! He is so powerful that he is the prince and power of the airs! He is so bad that he knows so much scripture that he can possibly deceive one to think it isn't truth. He is powerful and not one man left to himself could overcome him, except for only one and that being...Jesus Christ!

You and I left to ourselves CAN NOT overcome Satan! It is impossible! Show me one who claims they can solemnly defeat the Devil and I'll show you a man who walks deceived!

However my fellow heir and co-laborer of Christ, you CAN defeat the Devil!

No matter how big Satan may be, no matter how pressing his tactics are, all you got to do is throw a flag in the air and call his actions out and rebuke him!

Why can you do that?

Because you have something He doesn't have and that is...AUTHORITY!!!

I don't care what arrows Satan throws your way while you are walking in Jesus, you are not one who doesn't have AUTHORITY over such devises of the enemy!

Anytime Satan tells you a lie, you got to pull out your official rule book called THE BIBLE and call it out for what it is! And if Satan doesn't budge than He is going to have to face THE COMMISSIONER... God Almighty!

You may be worried about your family, worried about your job, worried about the worries you'll face in your tomorrows, but I got news for you Mr. Referee of the Kingdom of God...you got Authority because Jesus gave it to you!

Is unbelief knocking on your door and taunting you every time you get on your knees to pray? Than just throw the flag up, lift up those holy hands and take AUTHORITY in Jesus name!!!

Let Jesus be your Under-Armour and protect His house, your vessel, His temple! Protect that which God gave you from the onslaught of Satan himself! Rise up and take Authority!

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all AUTHORITY. Let no man despise thee. -Titus 2:15
