THE VALLEY OF ABUNDANCE

II Chronicles 1:15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

To my fellow reader and follower in the faith, we live in a day that it is evident that our economy is falling apart; the church is coming into a process of repentance, and people all over is about to see the Kingdom of God unleashed within the homes and lives of the righteous and upon the hearts of the broken. Chaos is birthing! And many within the church are still in line to experience the mountain top, though there is nothing wrong with that. But then one wonders, if so many are trying to get to the mountain top “spiritually” then who are in the valley places below? How is it, that when God goes to bless His children, that we can be so reluctant to think that only the blessing that God promised was on the mountain top? Yet are we allowing the enemy to rob our abundance in the valley places, because we just simply don’t want to be there?

I am not saying it is not good to seek God in the mountain tops, but what I am saying is that when we pray and fast for something specific; when we are even just seeking God out for the promise to be fulfilled in our life, sometimes God places us in the valley to enjoy the abundance of His blessing. The mountain top is a means to readjust your focus from a higher perspective to view your life as the Holy Spirit shows you, in order to the see the abundance and fulfilled promises in the distance.

Romans 8:5-6 (5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The mountain top is a place to be readjusted, properly aligned, and clearly be in tune with the Lord pertaining to His will, mind, and heart. The valley place is the mission field where the Lord’s mind, power, and plan shall be spoken, shown, and established through your life upon the earth. In other words, you’re not really called to do things for God per say, but rather submit to allow God to do things through you! It is more important for what God does in you than through, and the mountain top is the place for a true holy inward working in your life and the valley is the place that the fruitfulness of that inward work can take place.

In II Chronicles 1, we begin the book seeing a man on a mission. Blessing and confirmation was granted unto Solomon from the Lord through his father David to sit upon the throne as the next ruler over Israel, God’s people. Solomon’s mission was to not only judge God’s people as a king, but to build that which David had prepared for his son, and that was a house for the Lord or also known as the tabernacle of David. The father prepared it and the son was called to build it.

Well Solomon knew his commission, but he had to inquire first from the Lord for the spiritual tools to build. The bible says in verse 3 “So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place…for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God. Verse 5, “Moreover the brasen altar… and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it” (See previous blog: A Prophetic Prayer and a small brasen alter). And we continue to read that the Lord appeared unto Solomon after receiving a thousand burnt sacrifices from him, and the Lord asked Solomon what is it that he inquires of. Solomon asks not for wealth, honor, or the lives of his enemies, but he asked for wisdom and knowledge in order to manage and judge God’s people. In order to keep God’s people in line according to His original intent for the nation God has called into existence.

So what does this have to do with a valley of abundance?

This has a lot to do with the valley of abundance. We are given the illustration here of a man who is now called out by God and work in the valley of abundance! The abundance is God’s people, Israel. For God promised Abraham that He would multiply his seed like all the stars and the grains of sand there would be such an abundance of people you would be unable to count how many there are. By this time in the age of Solomon’s rule that promise was fulfilled. Solomon just needed some divine gifting and heavenly tools to help cultivate the abundance given to him to keep charge over and keep them all in the ways of God.

Many of us have promises from God that have been fulfilled since the beginning of our submission to the Lord at the alter of repentance. That was perhaps our first mountain top experience. When we gave truly gave our whole hearts to Christ we were not only given forgiveness for sins, but a gift as well. A gift from God, which is repentance. And in this gift of repentance, activates a whole spiritual makeover that is we submit to the Holy Spirit’s leading and doing, more gifts come forth. This bring Romans 12:1-2 alive and in action within every facet of your being. A promise is given that time and time again we cane come to the cross or “brazen alter” that saves and transforms our life. As we make our journey from the mountain top, along with new spiritual insight only given by the Lord and His word, we come into our valley to reap the abundance of His promise.

We know as valleys to be “cold” times in our life. Times of the Lord’s doing in us and trying of our hearts. And that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. But did we forget that we asked God to live within us and fulfill His word through us and promises to us?

Isaac understood that his abundance from God dwelt in the valley, the valley of Gerar, even though there was a famine in that land.

Genesis 26:2,4 (2)And the LORD appeared unto him (Isaac), and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: (4) And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Notice the Lord said to Isaac that IN his seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed! Later on in the same chapter we see that Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And Isaac waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: (Genesis 26:12-13).

Beloved! God has promised you abundance in the gift He first gave you at the mountain top you’ve experience in Christ! And God has called many of us to reap the harvest of the promise in the valley below! Yet we don’t take the time to SOW into that seed! To SOW into the church! SOW into the promise! Not many of us want to dig in the valley! Don’t want to plow and have allowed the Devil to kill the pioneering spirit within us and dim the vision God has given!

We got to apply our Holy Ghost transformation into the earth and not just talk about it! Use the tools God has given you to go reap some buried treasure! Some abundant treasure that you been holding onto God’s word for! You see when Solomon made his request known unto the Lord for wisdom, it wasn’t for his own self enjoyment to boast, but it was so that he can meet the criteria of what God called Him to do! As Paul puts it in Philippians 2:2 Fulfill ye MY joy that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Solomon wanted to fulfill God’s joy and in order to be joyous concerning it, Solomon needed an impartation from God of wisdom and knowledge…he needed to have one mind and that is one mind that obtained the wisdom of God given to man. Because wealth wouldn’t make Solomon fulfill God’s joy nor the lives of enemies, but renewed understanding that can be applied into the seed of abundance that God gave him! Into His people!

Let’s not just use our heads as a hat rack, but let’s apply the wisdom God has given and engraved in us to go reap the abundance of His promises within the valley places of our lives! I believe the mountain top is a place for one on one affirmation with God on a vertical level, but the valley places are more of a horizontal level dealing with relationships with people. Sometimes people can rub us the wrong way and we then call it our valley places, yet not realizing God wants to smooth you out so you can show forth the abundance of God’s goodness to a people!

There is abundance in your Valley! There is a treasure in every Trial you go through! As long as we submit to the dealings and tools that the Holy Ghost imparted within us we will then tap into the promise of the Spirit and that is life, life more abundant!

Maybe you have a cruel boss and God promised you a promotion. Have you ever thought to sow into that boss’s life with great honor and encouragement, that maybe by doing that, you would receive your abundance? Perhaps that boss is your own valley place. Well whatever the case may be, it’s about dying to self and dying for others. God doesn’t forget His promise. He pretty much remembers them better than us. But He also doesn’t forget His standards that He placed upon our lives.

I encourage all of us, just to submit to the valley times. Sow into it. Don’t just pray for a revival to take place, but prepare for it. You see David didn’t just pray about making the house for God, but He prepared for it and sure enough, through his son it came to past. This is a shadow and type of God’s working through Christ. From day one of creation, God has prepared for righteousness by His Kingdom to be established on the earth. It was through His son, Jesus that it would be built. To build the church upon His anointing, to build the family upon His covenant, to build the saved individual upon His love and promise. It is through the church that we continue to dig within the earth, within the valley for the abundance of the power of the Kingdom to be revealed unto all mankind. So many times we run back to the old mountain top meanwhile God has placed us in the valley to receive His promise. Don’t worry a new mountain top will come, but for now just remain in the place that God has placed you in. For in your valley, there is abundance.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

God Bless
