Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
To my fellow reader, I want to just speak from my heart to encourage us all in this blog while we are walking out God’s spoken prophetic word and promise over our life. To strengthen us as we continue on our adventurous journey in Christ toward His full Kingdom establishment on the earth!
Many of us believers have received a Word from The Lord through His appointed prophets. We have either received a general prophetic word speaking of what God’s intensions are and for through our life, or we have received a directional word which the Lord speaks specifically of a shifting in direction, perhaps geographically and so on. Perhaps we have received both types of words from The Lord, however whatever we have received I want to encourage you to stand firm upon His Word spoken to you, yet not neglecting the principles, commands, and requirements given unto us by The Word of God which is The Bible.
We need to be both near and far sighted ‘spiritually’ as we hold on to the promise that God spoke over life. We need to be able to be focused on what The Lord requires from us in the here and now, day by day journey which is our near sightedness, yet not allowing our eyes to look away from what the Lord has told us where He will bring us in the future and only in His timing which is our far sightedness. If we lack being both near and far sighted, then we are blind.
I once heard my Pastor use this analogy that receiving a prophetic word is like watching the coming attractions to a movie. When you see the ten minute movie commercial, all you see is the highlights leaving you with a general idea of what the movie is about. However, to see how the movie highlights which were advertised come together in a story format, you must be willing to pay the price to see how the movie specifically pans out. If you don’t pay the price to see the movie, you are left with just an assumption of an idea of what the movie really is all about. You got to be willing to pay the price to see what exactly God has in store for you and how He is going to do it!
Too many people check out to soon in the middle of their journey from seeing and experiencing the fulfillment of God’s promise over their life. We see the example in Numbers 14 when after ten times the first generation of the children of Israel tempted God while complaining and murmuring for 40 years, God decided to allow only their children, the second generation of 19 years of age and below to enter into the promise land. Because of the first generation’s selfishness and lack of both far and near sighted vision of what God not only told them but was doing in the midst of them, they as a generation checked out of God’s promise to soon. They missed out on the land of promise.
Also look at Joseph’s life. From Genesis 37-40 we read of Joseph’s process (Check out previous blog, The Breaking), which was a process that lasted him thirteen years until he witnessed the fulfillment of the promise God showed him in a dream (Genesis 37). When Joseph came to the 11th year of his process, he became tired, weary, and willing to check out of God’s plan for his life to soon. In Genesis 40 we see that Joseph translated the dreams of a baker and butler who were in prison along with Joseph. Joseph prophetically translated both their dreams, but when he translated the butler’s dream that God would spare his life, Joseph also tagged a request of his own after prophesying to the butler that his life will be spared. Joseph requested to the butler, “But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:” Genesis 40:14. In other words Joseph might have well just asked of the butler, “Don’t forget me, don’t forget what I did, I prophesied over you, so please take me out of here. Take me out of this house, this prison, this…process!”
I want to encourage us all, to wear the Word that God spoken over you as you continue in this journey! Get it in your prayers, get it in your mind, sing of His promise and declare His word! Like David as he was on the run from a King Saul, David would sing and write psalms unto The Lord, He would declare the Word that was spoken over him as a young lad. Sure times for David was tough as he hid in a cave, but he meditated, spoke, and declared God’s word over his life and not only that, but David declared God’s goodness over his life presently in times of trouble. David realized that no matter what, God was preserving him which means that God was preserving His Word in him, so it could be preformed and fulfilled through him!
Again, times will be tough, but weather you like it or not welcome to the war! The prophetic word that was spoken over you was not only the announcement of a promise, but is a declaration for war. It’s a declaration for war because it was God’s spoken word in which the enemy always tries to make to discredit God’s Word. Just like the time Satan first questioned God’s word to mankind by deceitfully asking Eve “hath God said?” concerning the tree which God forbade man to eat of (Genesis 3). If Satan convinces us to discredit the word of the Lord, then we will be discrediting God. Satan wants to try to get you, as my Pastor says, in the wilderness of wonder. The worse place you can be in the journey, after prophecy entered your life, is the place of wonder. The longer you stay you will eventually be eating sand-wiches. When recieving the word, we ourselves have become the focal point of the enemy, to clarify even more, our obedience and response to the word has become the focal point to the enemy. He will try to attack our hope in the word of it ever being fulfilled and cause us to miss out on the inheritance of God's spoken Word over our life!
Our obedience determines God's will to be fulfilled in our life. Never think that your sin (disobedience) is a private issue. It not only affects you negatively, but all those around you. Remember, we are called to be wittnesses of Christ! Numbers 15:40, Acts 1:8.
Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
Since the time we have given our heart to the Lord, receiving His salvation, we enrolled ourselves into a war. However, thank God the battle is the Lord’s and that He has called us out and to be more than conquerors in Jesus name!
I Samuel 17:47…for the battle is the LORD's,…
Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
We can not think for one moment that just because we received a word from God that we can just throw the Bible out the window and think its smooth sailing through easy street into God’s spoken revealed word which brought faith into our life. Don’t neglect the unchangeable and Ultimate Word, The Bible. We can not go from living life only by prophetic word to prophetic word. If we do, than that is a sure call for disaster! Jesus wants to preserve His Word within us! We as co-laborers in Christ must desire to do the same by the leading of the Holy Ghost as we mediate upon the Word of God. I do want to say this, The Bible which is God’s unchanging love letter and foundation to us, is the best prophetic Word we can ever receive! It is the Word that keeps on giving and is always fulfilling its promise to us! It’s the Word that’s for today and forever. No word is as on time, as the one that has been given to us years ago till this day and forever until the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Keep your eyes and heart in the Book and your compass pointed toward His spoken word over your life!
Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
I encourage us all today, get out of the place of wondering! Meditate upon what God spoken over you and perhaps your family! Even the prophetic word that has been spoken over the church you attend to. The Church is your Family! Don’t check out to soon. Not like Joseph, when God still had him in the oven of process for another two years. Submit and give your all to the process. Don’t give in to your ability of prolonging the fulfillment of God’s word over your life! As Peter walked on not only the water, but the word which Christ spoke to him specifically biding Peter to come, I encourage you to walk on God’s word as well! As you allow the baptism of Fire to come upon you daily, being purged by God’s appointed process over your life, The Holy Spirit will give you the grace and faith that is strong and relevant enough that it will be as if you are walking on water! Think of Shad rack, Meshach, and Abednego as they submitted to the fire and Jesus was with them! (Daniel 3)
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Cloth yourself like armor, in the spoken word of The Lord! Get the word in your mouth! Declare it, pray it, meditate on it, and rejoice in what God has spoken over you. Be willing to pay the price and go through the adventure with Jesus!
Hebrews 13:5 for he (Jesus) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Numbers 15:40-41 (40) That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. (41)I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.
Ephesians 6:10-19 (10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (19) And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
God Bless
