YOUR FIELD FOR HIS DREAMS

Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest. -John 4:35

Many who have seen the 1989 movie "Field of Dreams" are familiar with the line, "If you build it, he will come". A voice speaks to Kevin Costner to construct a baseball diamond in his corn field. Sure enough in this fictional flick, old ball players from back in the day, who were long gone in the grave, resurrect and show up to play ball.

Well it is similar to Noah in the sense that before they knew what this flood would look like or what would be spared and what would not, God spoke to Noah and told him to build and ark according to a pattern God had in mind. This is the world's first ship every to hit the high seas!

Noah's job was to just build according to the field plan of God. Nothing more and nothing less! God did the rest.

Well today there are many ministers who look to their ministry or church fellowship as their field of dreams! Purchasing things, great sound systems, new audio equipment, adding new programs all for the faithful few that remain in the fellowship. Though discouraged at numbers in this day in the church at large, perhaps purchasing the next big thing could help ease the uneasiness and be used as the next advertisement highlight to encourage people to attend a morning service.

God never told Noah for whom those indoor ark cabins were made for. All He told Noah to do is just build.

Jesus told his disciples the fields are white and ready unto harvest! Many who put there focus on new "things" rather than the field, are those who look to build more of their dreams or expectations, rather than God's blueprint within the field!

Don't get me wrong, new equipment and helpful programs aren't wrong, but if it those things were born in one's day dream than in God's vineyard, then it will remain as nothing but a dream and not God's purpose revealed!

Noah built the boat, which was something never thought of in the finite mind of man. So we know Noah isn't building his dream boat, because something of that kind was never dreamt before!

Noah built God's plan in the fields! When timing came, depending on how swift Noah was willing to yield and build according to God's design, God then did the supernatural!

All of a sudden animals came! Supernaturally, animals from all over got the memo that they were to have 2 of every kind be represented and aboard the S.S. Deliverance Cruise line! It was supernatural, because Noah submitted to God's dream, God's desire, God's Word in how to build a something, for a someday!

It's not about building a building per say, but it is about building up people. God's dreams are about lives made new, not stuff that soon sits old.

Christ's field of dreams is in people, that they can come out of “day dreaming” and into His reality of “daily living”, living out that all things are possible to them that believe in Christ Jesus!

To my fellow ministers in the assembly, let not Satan sway us to climb up the corporate ladder of Church growth all to find out that the ladder was resting against the wrong wall. The Church fellowship is not an organization, but rather a divine organ that God is looking to establish as the heart beat of His purposes within the community and earth. Let our field of dreams be His field of dreams.

Think about it, when one boards a plane to fly many hours overseas, not many people complain about the food on the plane as much as they would if the plane was delayed. Why? Because they don’t purchase plane tickets for the food that is served, but rather for the destination they are guaranteed to get to. Some people in your church fellowship may not like what is being served from behind the pulpit because it convicts or challenges them, but as long as they are going to the destination of glory to glory, being conformed more into the image of Jesus; than that’s all that counts. Just build by preaching the Word of God and people will come, partake and go places where they never thought possible to go!

However, unlike boarding the plane, we must partake of the food of God's word regardless, because that is part of the journey of walking out our Salvation. Nevertheless, you don’t purchase your plane ticket depending on who is used to serve you on the plane or who is driving the plane or who is instructing the people on board of emergency plans. As long as you are guaranteed you will get from point A to point B, you will deal with whomever and eat whatever, as long as you will get to that new destination! If you did only purchase a plane ticket based on who is piloting the flight or serving online, than for that person they will go in circles! Why? Because they a flying for a respect of person rather than a respect of destination!

The only person we are called to follow is Jesus. The Apostle Paul said; “follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1). You don’t follow the person of your Pastor, but rather who your Pastor is following and that is Jesus! Now you need a pilot to fly the plane, so you do need the leadership in the Church assembly to submit under, but all for one reason that the whole assembly would submit to the course of Christ for their life!

That is part of God’s field of dreams, are you onboard?

Then let’s go places!
